A new Zelda title is on the way to Nintendo 3DS and it looks oddly familiar. The new Zelda game is set in the world of A Link to the Past and even shares the same (yet improved) visual style.

The title isn't a mere remake though as it boasts new dungeons and a new storyline. Just like the SNES classic, this title also has a top-down perspective which makes great use of the 3DS' 3D capabilities. 

Link also boasts a new ability which allows him to turn into a painting and move himself across walls. 

No official release date has been given for the title yet but it's set to arrive by the end of the year. 

The game has already been hinted at in the past as Miyamoto was once quoted as saying he'd be interested in creating something based on A Link to the Past. 

"I'd be even more interested in creating something new maybe based on, or starting from, A Link to the Past. I think it's important to bring some really new software."
