The Legend Of Zelda: Breath of the Wild wins big at the D.I.C.E awards

The Legend of Zelda: Breath of The Wild took home four awards from the D.I.C.E game awards held in Las Vegas last night, including the much coveted "Game of the Year", as well as Adventure Game of the Year, Outstanding Achievement in Game Direction and Outstanding Achievement in Game Design.

Quite a haul for the Wii U swansong cum Switch launch title, yet there were still more awards for Nintendo to enjoy.

Super Mario Odyssey won for Outstanding Achievement in Sound Design, Snipperclips snapped up Best Family Game and the D.I.C.E Sprite Award, Mario + Rabbids Kingdom Battle won for Strategy/Simulation Game, Best Racing game sped towards Mario Kart 8 Deluxe, Best Mobile game was Fire Emblem Heroes and in a handheld category that was chock full of 3DS titles, Metroid Samus Returns took the glory.

And finally, special corporate adviser at Nintendo Genyo Takeda was bestowed the lifetime achievement award for his role in Nintendo's Hardware development.

It was a great night for Nintendo and especially Breath Of The Wild, which has collected quite the list of accolades since it's launch last March. What a difference a year makes.

What do you think of the awards? Should Mario Odyssey have been given more of a look in, or was Zelda truly the outstanding game from an outstanding year of Nintendo releases? Head to the forums and let us know!
