Nintendo continues to surprise us with a second Nintendo Direct presentation in three days, this one coming completely out of the blue to announce an unexpected localisation.

It's essentially The Sims meets David Lynch in this phenomena that has already took Japan by storm after just two iterations. Originally released as Tomodachi Collection in 2009 on DS, a 3DS sequel enjoyed similar popularity last year, and Nintendo has decided it is worth bringing the weird world of Tomodachi Life to the west.

In the game, you can create your own character and then sit back and watch as it makes friends and indulges in all sorts of eclectic activities on your very own island paradise. It's probably best if you watch Nintendo's finest demonstrate the experience in the short Direct video.

Tomodachi Life is due to release on June 6th.
