Ubisoft announces Child of Light for Wii U

Ubisoft has brightened up everyone's mornings by announcing a brand new title heading to consoles next year. Child of Light is a 2D, side-scrolling adventure game developed by the company's Montreal studio. In it, you play as Aurora; a young girl accompanied by Ignuculus, a floating ball of light. You must traverse the magical Lemuria kingdom in order to defeat the Black Queen who has stolen the sun.

Child of Light is built on the same game engine that was used by Rayman Legends, but instead of being a platformer, the game is more of an RPG. Fights are turn-based, with a JRPG-influenced 'active time battle system', although you can get the jump on enemies by timing your moves well.

Here's the debut trailer for the game.

We've added a bunch of high-quality screens to the gallery too, so check them out by clicking below.
