A while ago Sega announced Sega AGES (read that backwards now!), a series of classic Sega games coming to the Nintendo Switch eShop. The first five games to be released will be Sonic the Hedgehog, Thunder Force IV, Alex Kidd in Miracle World, Gain Ground and Phantasy Star.

The first two of that list will be released on the eShop next month. More titles will be available later, and the list will no doubt grow in the future. An exact release date and price point has not been mentioned yet.

UPDATE: Translations from the official websites have confirmed that both games will have added (but optional) functionality. Sonic can use new moves such as Spin Dash and Drop Dash. The Mega Play version is playable as well, adding a time attack game. Ring Keep Mode starts you of with some rings every time, while Challenge Mode adds a worldwide competition for best time and score.

Thunder Force IV gets Styx Mode, which lets you use the Thunder Force III's FIRE LEO-03 "STYX" fighter. Kids mode is an easy mode with a number of helpful options such as the ability to keep your weapon.
