Updates for Nintendo Letter Box and Colors! 3D this week

Nintendo Nikki hasn't been sending that many flirtatious messages lately and now we know why - She's been beavering away on a Nintendo Letter Box update.

The update, set for release this thursday (April 4th) will allow you to take and record sounds from the app itself, which can then be attached to your letter. You can now also attach photos and sound in a reply.

You'll now also be able to set a different ink colour per page, and filter letters by sender in the letter list. Sadly, there is still no rainbow pen. There will never be a rainbow pen.

This weeks other, arguably more exciting, update is for the fantastic Colors! 3D. The update will be available for download from Friday (April 5th) and is free for everyone who has already purchased the title, despite the vast amount of new features on offer.

You'll now be able to follow artists in the gallery, in a similar vein to the likes of Miiverse and Twitter which will make viewing art much easier. The work created by the people you follow will show up in a news feed.

You'll also be able to search for specific paintings thanks to a new tagging feature. Just like on Instagram, you can now tag all of your paintings to make them easier for users to find.

Finally, your profile will now be a lot more personal. Instead of just having your paintings on show, you can reveal a bit more about yourself thanks to new customisation tools in the form of a personal message and profile picture.

Exciting times for handheld artists, now we're just praying for a Wii U version of the app!
