Warner Bros. is backing the Wii U, thinks Nintendo will "fix the problem"

Warner Bros Interactive has given the Wii U a quality selection of games since the launch of the console in November, with titles such as Batman Arkham City, Injustice: Gods Amongst Us and the exclusive Lego City: Undercover giving Wii U owners plenty to keep them busy whilst other developers still decided, and continue to decide, which of their games to bring to the platform.

And now the president of the company's Interactive Entertainment division, Martin Tremblay, has publicly backed the console to turn around its fortunes following on from a strong showing at E3 last week. Speaking with Games Industry International, he believes the Wii U will now be "re-energized".

"We're a believer on the Wii U. Honestly, we hope everybody's going to work out. It's just good for the industry. I think the console has been off to a slow start, but I think they're going to fix the problem. I don't think it's a problem, but it's more about the content. And I think they showed tons of new content [at E3] that will re-energize the platform."

With Batman Arkham Origins and Lego Marvel Super Heroes coming before 2013 is over, WBIE is really supporting the Wii U with its biggest games, and doing its best to generate interest and sales in the console. There is still an issue around DLC for Injustice, and of course the fact we never saw an official release of Scribblenauts Unlimited on Wii U here in Europe (anyone eagle eyed enough to download it from the eShop when it was put up for sale in error could be sat on a collectors item), but let's hope this positive news will be the start of an upturn in fortunes for Nintendo's home console.
