If you've been living under a rock these past few days, you might have missed that Nintendo released a special Mario Kart 8-specific Direct broadcast earlier this week. Not to worry, because you can watch the whole thing below.

The Direct shows off more new features, including new inclusions to the racer roster, and a new item in the form of the Super Horn.

The game's 12-player online multiplayer mode also gets shown off. New features include lobby voice chat, and the ability to create your own public and private tournaments. There's also an entire in-game channel dedicated to video playback of race highlights - Mario Kart TV - through which you can upload your own highlights to YouTube.
