Watch today's Japanese Nintendo Direct and trailers

Well for a Japan-exclusive Nintendo Direct about a fortnight before E3, today's broadcast was surprisingly eventful. A handful of new games were announced, although we'll have to wait for separate confirmations on whether which will make it to the west.

Highlights included the aforementioned Monster Hunter X, yet another new Monster Hunter spin-off that seemingly inflects Animal Crossing, Dr Mario, and the first little look at Bandai Namco's free-to-play Wii U title Project Treasure.

The hardcore Nintendo faithful might be most electrified, however, by a brand new Chibi Robo game for 3DS, which will arrive alongside a new amiibo. For younger readers, Chibi Robo was one of the final first-party gems on Gamecube, and revolved around a tiny household maintenance robot tasked with completing daily chores. The new title seems to shake things up a bit by being a largely side-scrolling platformer.

You can watch the full broadcast below, clocking in at around half and hour. We've also added the available trailers for some of the games involved.
