Wii U GamePad works best up to 8m

With the ability to wirelessly stream some Wii U games in their entirerty to the GamePad controller, it would be a pertinent question to ask just how far we can take the GamePad away from the console without loss of performance. Pleasingly, it looks like we have a precise answer already.

At the recent Wii U preview event in North America, NOA's Bill Trinen was quizzed by 1UP about the issue, to which he gave a surprisingly informative answer.

Trinen seemed to be well in the loop of Nintendo's testing of the GamePad, stating that "they had a very precise number at one point. In meters it's like eight meters. In feet it's about 24 feet. That's for best performance."

He also qualified that this figure would be characteristically "conservative" from the company, suggesting that it might even work beyond that distance in certain cases.

With this information, does it mean you can envisage yourself playing Wii U in your loo? Let us know below.
