Wii U stock sells out before UK launch

Nintendo stated a while back that Wii U stock will be 'tight' upon release yet we can imagine even they weren't quite expecting this. Most UK retailers have already ran out of Wii U stock before the release of the console.

Indeed, MCV claims to have heard from multiple sellers across the UK that "entire launch allocation has been snapped up through pre-orders."

Thankfully, Nintendo are hard at work to refresh stock as soon as possible, but it seems that a Wii U may be as hard to come by this Christmas as the Wii was back in 2006.

The Wii U is merely days away from release in Europe. Do you plan to pick one up on Friday? HMV, who will host the midnight launch in Oxford Street, have secured additional stock for the event as well as offering two free Wii U games to the first 100 customers.
