After this weeks Wii U update, we saw the (slightly late) release of two long awaited Wii U features - Panorama View and the Virtual Console.
Wii U Panorama View allows you to view the world around you, in motion, via the GamePad. By moving the GamePad in any direction you can view the various videos in any way you wish. First shown at E3 2012, the guided video tour has released with a fair few locations.
A tour of London, a Carnival in Rio and birds in flight can be viewed in full 360-degree vision. Each video tour costs £1.79/€1.99 and you can try an interactive preview for free.
Finally though, it's the Wii U Virtual Console that has been getting everyone's attention and it's finally available in Europe.
The Virtual Console currently plays host to a bunch of NES and SNES classics and more titles are set to be added on a regular basis. NES and SNES games are all that will be available in the near future but GBA and N64 support has been promised for a later date.
The prices are rather steep again, as they were on Wii, with SNES titles costing €7.99 / £5.49 and NES titles costing €4.99 / £3.49 but you do get a bit more for your money this time with Miiverse support, save states, GamePad play and (most) titles available in 60Hz.
Check out the full list of launch titles below:
Super Mario World
Excitebike
Mario's Super Picross
F-Zero
Ice Climber
Donkey Kong Jr.
Punch-Out!!
Will you be purchasing any of these VC titles? It almost feels as though we have spoilt with the 30p for 30 days campaign! To go back to these prices is a tough pill to swallow.
