Pokémon fans are invited to take place in the Pokémon X and Pokémon Y Battle Tournament 2014 for a chance to win a trip to Tokyo, or one of many other fantastic Pokémon prizes.  Over a dozen qualifying events will be taking place in England, Scotland and Wales during March and April, before the Grand Final in London.

Participants of all ages are welcome, with winners being picked from the following four categories:

• Ultimate Pokémon Expert - this is for players aged thirteen and over, with the ultimate winner netting themselves a week-long trip for two to Japan.  The first and second place winners will also receive fast track entry to the second round of the official Play! Pokémon UK VGC event this Spring.
• Junior Expert - for players aged twelve and under, the winner of this category will receive a weekend trip for the whole family to Alton Towers theme park, complete with a stay in the hotel.  The first and second place winners will also receive fast track entry to the second round of the official Play! Pokémon UK VGC event this Spring.
• Ultimate Team - encouraging familial co-operation, this category is open to families where one member is aged over sixteen and the other is aged under twelve.  The winning pair will receive £250 worth of Nintendo UK Online Store vouchers as well as a group trip for four to EGX London.
• Pokémon Apprentice - welcoming complete newcomers, the winner of this category will take home a mega bundle of Nintendo 3DS games worth up to £300.

The winner in each category will be crowned at the Grand Final in London on April 26th.
