Nintendo has released a launch trailer for Yoshi's New Island to celebrate the game's release in Europe this Friday.

Yoshi's New Island is a spiritual sequel to both 2006's Yoshi's Island DS and the 1995 classic Super Mario World 2: Yoshi's Island. It is developed by Arzest - formed mostly of former Artoon personnel - and features the same gorgeous art style the series is best known for.

As well as new power-ups, Yoshi can also transform into a range of weird and wonderful things, including a submarine and a hot-air balloon. The game also features new modes, including multiplayer mini-games.
