You can now purchase Hanafuda cards from the My Nintendo store

Before becoming famous in the realm of videogames, Nintendo started out as a manufacturer of Hanafuda playing cards when the company was founded in 1889.

Over the years, Nintendo has made limited sets of these cards featuring Mario characters, in various form factors including mini card sets which were available for a limited time from Club Nintendo many years ago.

Now it seems Nintendo is producing full size decks, for the price of £22.49 plus postage, or you can exchange 400 Platinum Points plus postage for a Postcard set.

Supplies will likely be limited, full details can be found at the My Nintendo Store.

Are these sets of Hanafuda cards something which you'll be purchasing? Or will you be exchanging some points for those postcards perhaps? Would you like to see Nintendo do more things like this in the future?
