Animal Crossing: Wild World

Preview: Animal Crossing: Wild World

Animal Crossing is one of the greatest games on the GameCube and guess what…it's coming to the Nintendo DS! So… let's have a preview!

Since E3'04 back in May when the Nintendo DS was unveiled, a number of games were also shown the light of day. Animal Crossing DS was one of them, since then we have had small, bite-sized chunks of information, so don't expect a huge preview! Now we have a bigger picture of Animal Crossing DS then we did back in May so let me take you to Animal Crossing Nirvana!

Since the very first movies and screenshots were shown we have seen that Animal Crossing DS will look the same if not better than what it did on GameCube (no huge feat but nice all the same). Also now it now looks like Nintendo are going to push the DS to its limits. Animal Crossing is going to have many of the DS' different functions at its disposal, WiFi being the main and possibly most impressive one! Animal Crossing will allow up to 4 players to roam around the same village at the same time. Anyone who has a DS and a copy of the game within 30 to 100 feet of you can come and see you and vice versa. Plus, as in Animal Crossing on the Cube, you will be able to talk to the 'people' visiting your village, but this time you can say what you want by using the touch screen making it much easier and effective. You can also use the touch screen for menu selection making for a nice speedy interaction and it will also help with pattern designing.

The duel screen will also play a part with the top screen will showing the gameplay and the bottom screen showning menus, options or a pattern when you are designing one. But after seeing a resent screenshot I think you may be able to change what you see to your preference as It has been seen with the sky on the top screen and the gameplay on the bottom. This could be showing you what the weather is like as it changes. But this is just me speculating.

All I can say about this game so far is; wow! This is going to be one of the biggest games of 2005. Take my word for it. You want this game! We are all going to have to wait until 10th January 2005 to see what the final English version will be like. Calm down, that's just over 2 months away. Until then you'll have to stay glued to Cube-Europe for all the Animal Crossing DS first!
