News: Nintendo Of Japan Allows Cube 'Open Pricing'
Posted 14 Oct 2005 at 09:45 by Tom Phillips
From the end of this month, Nintendo is allowing Japanese retailers to set their own price for the GameCube.
Currently fixed at 14,000 (about 70), Nintendo are loosening restrictions on their set price for GameCubes. This means shops can now drop its price by however much they want.
Sony used this pricing tactic in May this year, which has allowed PS2 sales to remain buoyant throughout the year. Hopefully, this move will help ailing Cube sales in Japan.
