News: Japanese Hardware & Software Charts

We bring you the latest charts from Japan in a good week for Nintendo that sees the PSP beaten by both GBA:SP and DS!

Courtesy of Media-Create, we have the most recent sales figures from Japan.

In the software charts a flurry of new games sees seven new entries, pushing Nintendogs out of the Top 10 for the first time since its launch. The big news is that the new GBA title Kouchuu Ouja: Mushi King has stormed to the top of the charts, selling over 150,000 units more than anything else!

Elsewhere in the charts, DS Training continues to be very popular at 2, unique robot simulation Chibi Robo comes in the charts at 4, and the DS incarnation of Advance Wars makes it into the chart in ninth position.

On to the Hardware Charts now and the Nintendo DS is still on top, with the PS2 following a little way behind. Thanks to the big success of the GBA title Kouchuu Ouja: Mushi King this week, the GBA:SP has overtaken the PSP and narrowly gets third place in the Hardware Charts!

Although the PSP is shifted to fourth place it remains way ahead of the poor old Cube, which is still selling incredibly poorly when compared to the PS2. The original design of the GBA and the Xbox as usual get the fifth and sixth spots in the chart. Here's the full run-down:
